I really liked the nexus series. You can load almost every OS on the device, even Ubuntu without any trouble. I would have liked to see a Nexus "Camera" phone, because the camera on the regluar Nexus phones aren't

It's not really explained, however if you take the time to actually read the article they have, you will get more information.

http://www.androidauthority.com/android-silver-retiring-nexus-374512/

it was explained pretty well imo

android silver

1.more than one android silver device

2.not 100% stock android but bloat can be uninstalled

3.google will give manufacturers financial incentives to build android silver devices (maybe cheaper phones)

4.get updates pretty fast

he didn't explain one of the biggest parts of this is that google will partner with carriers to get this rolling out. Anyways I don't think this will mean cheaper phones.

I really hope that Silver will turn out to be what is rumored. Would be so nice to just buy a device running stock android from the galaxy line as well fir many other brands.

You can already do that. They are called "Google Play Edition".

I think Silver sounds like an awful idea. Not just because Nexus devices are fantastic but also because I doubt the Silver phones will cheaper (just look at GPe phones). The name is horrible as well. Silver implies second place.
