So, I never thought I would be looking for one of these...

 

I've heard about a device you can get that emits fairly quiet, but somewhat creepy sounds, such as a sigh, or similar, at random intervals.

 

Does anyone know what this is called? I've been goggling and searching on amazon, but I can't find it... I wish to purchase one. For science.

I was able to track down the exact device I was looking for. It's the ThinkGeek Eviltron.

 

Which sucks, because they haven't been made in quite a while, so my only bet to get one is to spend a lot for one, off ebay, which is not appealing.
