Hi I have gotten a new ssd for for christmas to hold my games. Previously I used a hard drive to hold all of them. Even with the games and their software off the hard drive the hard drive maxes out and stutters the game. My  games run great if I unplug the HDD but I still want to have it to place things that I dont want on my ssd. I have tried using disk clean, rmdir, and disk management. None of the options are able to wipe it due to an error from windows. My computer runs great without this drive and their is 100% no operating system on it. I am unable to view or delete this windows app folder I don't know if that has to do with it. I dont care how the files are remove as long as the hard drive still works I just want a clean wipe of it.

I use this context menu tweak ever since Windows 7 days. Once you add the registry key, right click on the folder and click take ownership and try again.

So I assume you want to wipe it all?

When you select the disk use the command "list partition" then select the partition and "delete partition". If it doesnt work try "delete partition override".

I have tried this and i got the same error code as the clean command

I've had better luck booting into a Windows installer and doing the clean command from there. When you're booted into Windows, it does not like to clear partitions it recognizes as a Windows install... even if it's not the one that's currently booted. Windows PE is a bit more lenient.

so I tried going through the steps but I cant even do the first one because take ownership isn't even an option. I double checked and my account is an administrator.

I use AOMEI Partition Assistant to take care of all my drives and haven't had any problems, ever.  At this point in the game you have nothing to lose.  It's FREE and there is also a portable version that you can slap onto a flash drive.
