Disable lighting on a non adressable RBG fan

Got this fan for free with a new monitor, installed it in my case to find out there is not way to turn off/change the rgb.
Anyone dealt with getting rid of the lighting on something like this fan?

Currently have to cover the side panel with something cuz it gets too distracting.

Check it's wiring for the LEDs. If you see any exposed wires going into LEDs or the LED assembly, just snip one of cables.
