i can pretty much guarantee the pc didn't crash once since this drive is installed,  so what does it mean and is it dangerous?

Unsafe shutdown is anything that was not proper shutdown. If you've ever held down the power button till it turned off, that would be unsafe shutdown.

hmm i see... i did this a lot*... but not since this drive was installed afaik (now im of course not sure anymore 🤔)

*like 99% because of mods, sometimes things just clash or are outright broken  - but the thing is my current game i can just force close if it crashes.

well now im curious my other drives should show hundreds of those then... probably!  😅

but... its not dangerous,  right? i mean nothing ever happened there are measures to prevent data loss... or maybe i need to change something in BIOS?

On my old motherboard hotswap was on for example,  pretty sure its off on this new one and im not sure thats a good idea.

ps: but yeah, that's the thing my other drives dont have this ?

(this is the mx500)

EDIT: yeah... this isnt good, i think i should turn on hotswap anyways... i mean what happens when a drive randomly physically disconnects while the pc is on?

no offense to whoever wrote this for example but i think thats a load of nonsense... pretty sure a friend told me way back to always turn on hotswap,  for exactly that reason (its just safer in case of crashes,  disconnects, etc)

i definitely had it on for years and nothing ever happened (and yes my drives *did* randomly disconnect while pc was on a few times 🤔)

ps: THAT actually happened on this motherboard too, but not with the nvme funny enough lol... 👀
