I'm asking due to reading about or watch some Gamer's Nexus video that mention the Intel ARC A750,  A770 dGPUs. I notice that the ARC line doesn't  support older OpenGL and DirectX 9 very well. Rather strange as Gamers are still playing  popular older Titles. Not to mention quite a few people are using older Computers. I'm one of them.

All I know is that that newer Motherboard chipsets have this feature. But do AMD And Nvidia GPUs have/support this?

Mhm, it's resizeable bar for nvidia and Sam for amd

Same thing, what they call it doesnt make it anything different. Nvidia actually calls it for what it is and AMD tries to name it something special. (Re-sizeable BAR = Re-sizeable [PCIE] base address registry)

IIRC, RX5700 and above, RTX3xxx cards and above support it.

That is correct yes, afaik oldest platform you can enable resizeable bar support is AM4/B450 (and some B350 boards IIRC). So it relatively recently added feature.

But for it to work, I've heard that you need an intel 10th gen CPU at least. For AMD, I don't know what generation you need to have it

I believe that is correct, 10th gen and newer platforms support it. On the AMDs side, its a little bit more flexible.

in extremely simple terms, it's a technology to dynamically adjust the size of the memory that gpu and cpu use to communicate.

both the cpu (chipset) and the gpu need to support it, because essentially using rebar is like talking a different language.

Is it a need to have feature anytime in the near future? Do games support it?

It's not something that's needed right now. It's not so much about games supporting it, like ray tracing and DLSS or FSR. It's done with hardware. It just gives the CPU and GPU quicker ways to communicate within themselves.

If you're building a new platform computer, you'll have it anyways even though it's not really needed right now. It is a bit of "free" performance though when you enable it.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I see. So not something I should worried about anyway.

Well it is better to have something and not need it, then to need it and not have it.
