My laptop's GPU, CPU, and RAM are performing WAY under expectations on GPU userbenchmark

Endelig321

Hey all,

I recently got a new laptop (HP Specter x360 16) and just tried a userbenchmark test, and it performed at the 6th percentile (2nd percentile for cpu, 16th percentile for gpu, and 0th percentile for ram). I closed all background programs, set the power limit to the max in the Windows settings and the HP control center, have it plugged in, restarted the laptop, and its not running very hot (mid 60s). I've done the test 3 or 4 times and it has almost the exact same results every time. What am I doing wrong?

Benchmark results: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/56750602

cpu: 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11390H

gpu: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU

ram: Hynix H5ANAG6NCJR-XNC 2x8GB

ssd: Nvme SK hynix PC801 HFS512GEJ9X101N 512GB

display: 3840 x 2400 - 32 Bit colors

bios: Insyde F.11, 8/9/2022

windows: 22621.819

Dont use userbenchmark, its absolutly useless for benchmarking.

Use Cinebench for example for CPU and Heaven for GPU.

Record the clockspeeds and temperatures with hwinfo

Post the results here

This is true, but its actually incredible at finding faulty components... like its not perfect but it really does find stuff that has at least "issues"

Also their "reviews" are very funny, intel good, amd bad, always, because "reasons" xD Lmfao

honestly?  something seems wrong,  but it doesn't really make sense... because everything  looks "bad"... there might be a bug or something.  Do you have any issues while using the computer at all?

Yeah, while I know that user benchmark is actually good at benchmarking things, the fact that my machine is so far behind other identical machines is worrying. I've had a couple of issues, but neither of them are that significant to my use of it (while watching a sports livestream, it seemed to run at a pretty  low framerate despite max bitrate settings, and it won't let me use nvidia's gpu tuning setting for some reason.)

I did a couple of cinebench tests, and got the following scores:

1292 single core score, max temp of 95c, 5.0 ghz clock max

5082 multi core score, max temp of 98c, roughly 4.2ghz max

In both of those tests, hwinfo said there was throttling, so I took it outside (it's around -10c where I live in MN, the only perk of this state) and did a multicore test:

5380 score, 4.3 ghz max, max temp of 99c. It also said it throttled a bit here.

Seeing as other identical laptops still benchmarked much higher than mine, should I assume it's a bad thermal paste application making ly machine throttle, or bad qc, or maybe I just got screwed in the silicon lottery for my ram, gpu, and cpu?
