Is this gaming rig good?

Go to solution Solved by SAV1OUR,

I'm planning to build a mid-end gaming rig with the limit of 1000$ (Can't take any higher than that), right now I have these options for CPU and VGA:

A. i3 4130 + GTX760 (Zotac AMP)

B. i3 4330 + R9 270 (MSI)

C. i5 4570 + GTX750TI 2GB OC (MSI)

Main, HDD, PSU, RAM, case, ODD are the same for those options above:

Main: MSI B85M-E45

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm 1TB

RAM: Avexir 8GB bus 1600 (2x4 GB)

Case: Corsair Carbide 200R

PSU: Corsair VS650 (For option C I'll take VS550)

Right now I prefer the A option, but some people said that i3 and 760 can cause bottle-neck problem so what are your suggestion? Should I take B and C instead? I'm a newbie of custom pc build.

My current rig for entertainment/gaming: i5 4570 3,2GHz; MSI B85M-E45; ZOTAC GTX760 AMP!; 8GB (2x4GB) by Kingston; Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm; Corsair 200R, Corsair VS650; Dell U2312HM, Samsung DVD R/W optical drive; CM Devastator; Corsair MM400 gaming pad

A Got strong GPU but weak CPU, C got strong CPU, but weaker GPU. Depending on the fact GPUs affect more than CPU, I'd go with the option A. i3s ain't that bad, only in some heavy multithreaded & online games they may suck, games like Crysis 3, Battlefield 4...

I'd go with A.

actlually an i3 haswell doesn`t bottleneck any video card in bf4 multiplayer.and there are no heavy multithreaded games. even better in big online games like mmo`s i3s are very good.

so yeah option A

It will. My cpu get's all cores & virtual cores loaded in BF3 while playing it online. For online games like Battlefield I recommend i5 over i3.

Thanks guys for your reply, really appreciate it  :D

btw, I'm not a heavy mmo or online shooting fan so probably I don't need a strong CPU, and sav1our said that i3 shouldnt bottleneck a 760 so i'd go with A. My monitor of choice is a Dell U2312HM and no peripherals needed if anyone ask me

thats not haswell.

do you see 17 fps over i3 ivy ? http://www.hardcoreware.net/intel-core-i3-4340-review/3/

''If you are building a system that is primarily for gaming, the Core i3 4340 will allow whatever video card you use to run at its full potential – there is no need to step up to a Core i5 or Core i7 CPU. The same could not be said for Ivy Bridge Core i3′s, or any AMD APU or CPU we have tested''
