M.2 ssd drive or a normal 3.5" drive?

Everything is so much more responsive and faster when the OS is installed on the SSD. For apps and games, the start up, load times, and general asset retrieval would be much faster.

The best bang for buck is having a 1TB cheap decent SSD with a 2TB HDD.

I posted my build in the new builds and planning and people just said I should get a m.2 drive instead of a cheaper Seagate barracuda 3.5" 1tb drive. I know that SSDs are faster than normal drives that spin. However, what exactly will me getting an SSD do for my system, what noticeable effect will getting an SSD produce?

Hard drives are only useful for storage and backup. Everything else needs an SSD these days. Some games don't even function properly on HDD.

Night and day. Don’t even think of installing an OS on a hard drive.

Spinning HDD are now only good for archiving/storing load of stuff that you don't need to access often or pretty lightweight (movies, vids, photos, music, backups..)

For everything else use SSD

Harddrives are much better than SSDs.

They make a lot of noise, so you really feel like something is happening when accessing it.

They can also be really slow at accessing data, which means you've got enough time to get a coffee inbetween. You would not be able to do that with an SSD!

On top of that they're much heavier and can be used as a weight to train your biceps. With SSDs you'll continue to look like a week console gamer.

😉

I don't drink coffee, is there time to get a hot chocolate instead?

If you get the right harddrive, yes! Maybe a 5400RPM one?
