Do Intel "KF" CPUs have QuickSync?

Like the title says, I want to know if KF suffix CPUs from 13000 Series have the QuickSync function.

Cheers 馃槃

No, the iGPU handles Quick Sync. A "K" suffix CPU would have it though.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.聽

Nope. you need a non-'F' CPU with built in IGPU.

CPU: Ryzen 5900x | GPU: RTX 3090 FE | MB: MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon | RAM: 32gb Ballistix | PSU: Corsair RM750 | Cooler: Sythe Fuma 2 | Case: Phanteks P600s | Storage: 2TB WD Black SN 750 & 1TB Sabrent Rocket | OS: Windows 11 Pro & Linux Mint

Yeah, i need the IGPU...
I'm building a System for Davinci Resolve and Gaming.

Here QuickSync is under the iGPU tab so it needs the iGPU

I'm not sure if I want a 7600X 7700X or a 13600K...

If a CPU is at least 20% faster in Davinci Resolve I take the 20% faster davinci resolve CPU than 20% faster in games 馃槃

If it's video editing then go with Intel, QuickSync is too good to pass up on playback.

Your GPU should have a good video decoder in it.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Fedora 38 x86_64

Secondary: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Fedora 38 x86_64

Server: AMD Athlon PRO 3125GE, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 ECC, TrueNAS Core 13.0-U5.1

Home Laptop: Intel Core i5-L16G7, 8 GB 4267 MHz LPDDR4x, Windows 11 Home 22H2 x86_64

Work Laptop: Intel Core i7-10510U, NVIDIA Quadro P520, 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Windows 10 Pro 22H2 x86_64

Unless your working with h.265 10 bit 422 or other formats only quicksync supports, the deticated gpu and quicksync will be simmilar in performance and usage

This is why I want a 13600k 馃榿 and was thinking about AMD.

Also, does DDR5 vs DDR4 (same price) makes a performance difference? Can I buy better DDR4 32gb than DDR5 32gb for the same price? By better I mean resulting with more performance in video editing and games.

Probably going to get someone who disagrees with me on this but my opinion on the whole DDR4 vs DDR5. If you have the money, then just go with a good DDR5 memory setup. If budget is something you want to consider in the sense of your bank would notice the difference in price between DDR4 & DDR5 then just go with DDR4 and a well tuned one with good speeds / latency.

The real word difference right now is so minimal you wouldn't notice it in actual usage, in the future that might change but as of today. DDR5 is only really worth it if you're budget free and wouldn't worry about the cost difference in that platform.
