Antenna Requirements for Wi-Fi 6E PCIe Card

No, it is only a receiver/transmitter its the board that will do all the work with what the antenna its gathering for it.

Question, do WiFi 6E cards require special antennas to pick up 6GHz signals? I have an AC wifi card in my PC right now with an after market extended dual band 2.4/5GHz antenna. If I buy one of these, I would like to get the antennas out from behind my PC, so I need to know if the antenna I have now will work with 6GHz. There is a review that says it works with their 6E connection but that’s not very concrete as far as my question goes.

Any old piece of wire will work as an antenna. The real question is how well will it work? 6E uses 6GHz as well as the legacy 2.4 & 5GHz bands so an antenna optimized for WiFi 5 or 6 may work it will not work as well as one designed for 6E.

 

You'll likely not notice the difference though unless you're streaming 4K content over your WiFi.

1.9671421128608926 inches is considered by experts to be the optimal length for the antennae in an open environment.

For practical matters anything over 2 inches will handily suffice.

 

Which, to put bluntly, means it don't matter

That's not entirely true, antennas are optimised for specific wavelengths and while 6Ghz is right next to the upper 5Ghz channels so I'd expect it to work, I would also expect an antenna designed specifically to support 6Ghz to work better.
