New NVIDIA driver gives a boost to 3000 series cards

HumdrumPenguin

I just went on to NVIDIA's website to download the driver of the new 4090 (version 522.25), and while reading through the description, the following got my attention:

" This Game Ready Driver also includes significant DirectX 12 performance optimizations which can dramatically improve performance for GeForce 30 Series GPUs."

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/193713/en-us/

My previous card was a 2080 Ti, so I can't test it out, but it would be interesting to know how much of a performance gain 3000 cards are getting on DX12.

From comments on reddit it seems like 5% to 25% depending on which game.

5% to 25% is quite a good bump. I was expecting up to 10-15% improvements. I wonder is this is the way of NVIDIA saying, "Hey, buy our 3000 cards pretty please. The 4000 won't be that much of a difference!"
