Is This Coil Whine?

O_Bsnacks

So, this past week I got my new motherboard, cpu, and gpu. So, when gaming I realized that there is this loud buzzing noise coming either my gpu or cpu aio. I have two videos, the first one is when I am in game (I’m playing warzone), and the second video is when I tab out but the game is still open.

pc specs:

ryzen 5 5600x

rx 6800xt xfx merc 319

asus strix rog b550-f

corsair h100i pro xt cooler

seasonic 80+gold 650w fm or gm( not sure what one) psu

Any ideas? Can it be the psu because I read that this can cause gpu coil whine.

It does sounds like coil whine to me, and it could be the psu, is there any chance that you can try another psu?

Yes, sound like coil whine (coil buzz).

Use a tube to pinpoint the source of the noise. My bet is on the video card, but let us know.

Coil whine doesn't mean that the component is about to die, it's just annoying.

If you have warranty, you can try to have it replaced.

May I ask what a tube is? And how would I use this to pinpoint the problem?

I mean something like a cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels.

Put one end to your ear and use the other end to locate the noise.

Or, even better, a tube like this that's more flexible and more precise:
