Which GPU will go perfect with Core i3-4130 (3.4 GHz)?

Go to solution Solved by Sonefiler,

R7 265, R9 270, or maybe R9 270X are the best options for the price. This thing is just so amazing http://powercolor.com/us/products_features.asp?id=490

Hi there,
One of my friend wanted to update his GPU. He wants to buy a R9 280X but I think it will bottleneck with his processor. He has Intel Core i3-4130 (3.4 GHz), so I want to know what you guys say about it, should he buy it or go for something else?
And one more thing if he buys Intel Core i5-4440 (3.1 GHz) processor and HD 7950 will these two bottleneck with each othe or not?
Thanks for your reply in advance.

A 750ti would be a good recommendation or something like an r9 270,

to be honest just get the r9 280x, it wouldnt be THAT bad, he can always drop in an i5/i7 later

Most likely, there won't be more than a 10 fps difference in most games comapred to an i5. He can buy a low-end i5 later if he wanted to.

dont skimp on graphic card just because you got i3. its perfectly good cpu, and with mantle even more so. if he choose 280x its good investment. and he can upgrade later, if need be.

Get a 760 if you can, Good card. May or may not bottleneck, if it does even bottleneck, it will only be like 2%. Because the i3-4130 is a good ol' processor and I don't think it will.

The i5-4440 will not bottleneck a 7970.

Humpty Dumpty was pushed.

Get the 280X, in some games the CPU may hold it back slightly, in some much less so.

The lower the frameratethe lower the CPU load and the higher the GPU load more often than not.

GTX 760... plus you wouldn't want to upgrade to an i5 or 7 later on to realize now the GPU is the bottleneck. Just knock them both out the right way, once.

as i see you wanan get a good price/performance build, so i would just throw and AMD card of the R7 series inside, because you can still run games in 1920x1080 with it and have ~50FPS as far as i know

doesn't matter what shit he trows in there. heck he can put 2 titan z or 4 titan black in there no problem.

he can always upgrade to a i5 in a year.

just grab the best one he can afford on his budget.

Live your life like a dream.
