Hi,

I have a MacBook Air (mid 2013, base spec) that I want to install Windows 10 on. I have an unallocated partition ready, and when I use the Bootcamp tool that is preinstalled with MacOS, in the end it always throws up an error saying that I do not have enough space. Which is weird, because the unallocated partition is almost 60GB, the minimum. So is there a step I am missing or should I just skip the Bootcamp and do it manually?

How did you make that partition? The Bootcamp tool expects to be the one making the partition adjustments when you run it, having done it yourself first is probably what confuses it.

You may be able to just install Windows normally but on some Macs the tool is required to modify the Windows image to add the Apple drivers.

I actually had a dual-boot with MacOS 11 (Big Sur) and OS X Yosemite, and I didn’t need the Yosemite anymore, so I just erased it

You can use Boot Camp Assistant to download the drivers:

So you are saying I should do it manually?
