Need a temporary solution.

arghya1406

I'm currently using an intel i5-4590 with a gtx 1050 with 16 gigs of ram . Trying to switch to a gtx 1650 for the time being as I'm getting a rig after an year or so.Should I go for it? The 1050 performance just doesn't cut it . A 10-15 fps boost would be nice. Should I go for it ? Will it bottleneck?

Bottleneck what...?  Need to be more specific.

I frequently edit any posts you may quote; please check for anything I 'may' have added.

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

Bottleneck the gpu. The gpu doesn't seem to perform at ≤80-85% according to some people as the cpu seems to weak for the gpu.

Will your next PC be no-budget bleeding edge or will you be going for a more economical build?

If you can wait a couple weeks, see how the Intel A770 release goes (Oct 12).  For $329, it should be a solid mid-range GPU that you can just carry over to your new build.  If nothing else you should be able to pick up a different card a bit cheaper at that point should reviews tear it apart.

You can pick up a 1080ti on ebay for about $230.  They also have a bunch of RTX 3060's for around that number if you're ok with used.

Probably, but they are both cards you can use in your new build if you so desire.

Option 1 is you can either get a low-budget upgrade now and have to replace it in a year to whatever tier you wish, or option 2 is you get a mid-range card now that is a bit hefty for your current setup, and you carry it over to your new build, then use it for another couple years until you have the budget to upgrade that and start running into performance issues.

The A770 or the RTX3060 would both be descent options for Option 2 and give you more time to wait for the market to stabilize and all 3 GPU vendors to get their next-gen products out.

Depends on the game and resolution.  If it is really graphical the bottleneck will be the GPU. If you run low resolution (1080p) on older games it will be the CPU.  The question is in that instance are you fine with the FPS because most probably run FPS in the 100s already.
