My macbook having a midlife crisis...

Hi guys,

 

I recently downloaded Mac's Fan Control onto my base model 14" macbook pro but I noticed that it is reporting 8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores when it should only be reporting 6 performance cores. Can anyone help explain the discrepancy? It also reported 8 performance cores in menu bar stats 3.

Honestly, that may just be a bug with Macs Fan Control. Report this to the app developer! And if it doesn't practically change how the app behaves, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
