Which Mobo to get???

Go to solution Solved by LawrenceBarnes2013,

th UP4 supports 3way Crossfire and SLI wile the UP5 supports one more card, but 4way is not recommended at all since it scales terribly, both boards got all the features you might want or need so, i'd go with the UP4 since it has to be slightly chipper, similarly equipped and i wont go for 4 cards any way

Hello O am building a new computer and was wondering which mobo to get.

I have an option of two motherboards and am stuck between which one to get.

Option 1: Gigabyte GA-X79S-UP5-WIFI

Option 2: Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4

Please note I don't need wifi.

without knowing more about the purpose of the computer...its hard to say

could save some money by getting a LGA1150 CPU and a Z87 mobo. most will never make use of the additional cores/pci-e lanes x79 has to offer over z87

but if moneys no option, I'd get the UP5.
