Hello folks

I'm about to update the BIOS on my Asus Z690 board.

Anticipating some minor changes to the settings, is there a way to somehow export all the current bios settings as a readable document so that I compare against any changes that come with the new bios?

Or should I simply take pics of all the bios screens instead?

Thanks

What board are you using? On some boards you can save bios settings into a file, go to bios switch to advanced mode and to to the tools tab. If you got the function in bios you can use this guide: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1046388/

Ok the guide is not complete, should also say save to file /or drive

I do pics (or recall them from memory...hard for RAM subtimings tho 😄 ), my board don't have export features, and I find it pretty weird we don't have that as a standard in 2022...

I think its been around for a long time, iirc theres some sort of save bios settings to file on my p5q and that things like 14 years old, havent used it though since the bios is so simple i can just take a photo of all the settings, even ram subtimings arent that bad since theres not that many of em in the bios

Could be useful when im screwing around with bios modding and doing some dumb sht to my p5q (like flashing a p5q deluxe bios on it with the 2mb bios chip off my p6t deluxe) but i think its too much hassle to just shove it on a usb since theres so few settings. Maybe the giga ep45 could use it but havent seen that function on that board and half the settings i have no idea what to do with because theres a ton of em so just autoed, still fine for 540+ fsb though

Personally id just photo it, unless you screw around with proper ram oc (tuning literally all the subtimings kind of oc) then you prob have those on auto and you have a crapload less bios settings to save
