Something to look out for with the LENOVO LEGION T7?

Hey all!

I'm looking for a new desktop to use for some gaming and occasional ML workloads. I found the Lenovo Legion T7 on sale for 20300 NOK with a discount code, which looks like a decent deal to me, however I can't find many reviews of it online. What I am scared off is that they handicap their PCs like other OEMs do. (IE HP Omen 45L) Does anyone here have any experiences with it?

The specs of the T7 configuration I am looking at are: RTX3080, i7-12700KF, 32GB 4800mHz and 1TB SSD. Its also one of the few pre-built PCs I have found that has a 360 mm CPU cooler, which I assume will be necessary for the 12700?

I've been trying to pick out something similar on PC partpicker, but I haven't been able to match the price, even when picking more reasonable DDR4 RAM. https://no.pcpartpicker.com/list/htkzpH

Another pre-built I found is sold by Proshop Dutzo, which doesn't use proprietary parts, however it is slightly out of budget: https://www.proshop.no/Stasjonaer-DUTZO-konfigurerbar-gamer-PC/DUTZO-Deluxe-Wildfire-RTX-3080-Intel-i7-12700KF-1-TB-SSD-16-GB-RAM/8042142

Hope someone can help me find a good deal even though the market still kind of sucks

Budget (including currency): 20500 NOK

Country: Norway

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS, Elden Ring, Machine Learning / Deep Learning

Other details: No peripherals needed, have a 144hz 2k monitor already.

Even added more RAM. I see no reason to go with the 12700kf instead of a 5800x, it should handle all your games just fine and it's irrelevant for ML anyways.

I added more ram because 16gb won't be worth shit for any decent model or data wrangling. IMO, you should also try to bump that gpu to a 12gb 3080, since the 10gb on your option will hinder you a lot with any sota model.

You're right about the GPU. Saw now that the price gap is smaller than last time I looked. Thank you for the list, do you have any recommendations for a case that is more bang for the buck as well? Originally picked it because it is large and has fans included.

I'm not that much into cases, but the Fractal Design Core 2300 should do the trick.
