Topre spacebar key sticking

I have a Leopold FC980C (topre switches), which is an absolute dream to type on.

 

Unfortunately, the spacebar has started sticking. Does anyone have any experience with sticky keys with Topre switches?

 

I've taken the whole thing apart and cleaned everything, tried a different keycap, tried switching domes, tried switching springs, but no matter what it's still sticking. The spring and plunger seem to be working just fine with the keycap off which leads me to believe it's something to do with the stabilizers.

 

I've seen mixed info on lubing topre switches and it seems like most people lean towards not lubing them, but aside from that I'm at a loss for what to try next.

 

Any thoughts?
