Want new PC but confused as new generation around the corner 🥲

Harsh Vardhan Singh

Hi, i am planning to build a new PC and have almost everything i need on my list below is the list.

Motherboard [Msi mag z690 tomahawk ddr4 wifi]

CPU [ Intel Core i7 12700kf non uhd 770]

RAM [ G. Skill trident neo 16x2 3600mhz DDR4]

SSD [ samsung nvme 980 pro 1tb]

PSU [ MSI 850 watt plus gold]

AIO [ Lian li galahad 240 or 360] confused on which one to buy. 🤔

Cabinet [ Lian li lancool 2 mesh RGB with type C]

GPU [ MSI rtx 3080 ventus/ gaming X trio] Most Confused here 😮💨

Finally graphics card is what I'm most concerned about. Should i get a RTX 3080 right now or wait a bit more to get a RTX 4000 series card? Or do i even built a PC right now or wait it out? I was initially going for ryzen 9 5900x but decided to switch to intel i7 12700kf as it's better value for money. I'm afraid ryzen 7000 series paired with DDR5 only might come out as an expensive investment. I think i don't need ddr 5 ram at all cuz it may still be buggy and expensive no? 🥲

Plzz help me 🙂

With next gen Ryzen supposedly coming out this month, I'd wait on the CPU too.

GPUs are still a maybe on when, it could be October, November, December, no one knows for sure, especially since the market is still flooded with new and used GPUs.

If you really need it now, maybe wanting to play the recently release Spider-man? Or some other reason, anyway I'd just wait on the CPU release and then pull the trigger.

Me personally just build my PC last month, because I found a really good deal on secondhand GPU, found a recently purchased Asus TUF RX 6800 XT for the price of lower end RTX 3070.

And I really wanted to play the Spider-man game, so I just couldn't wait for the next gen to drop, might regret it later, we'll see.

Just because its coming out, doesnt mean you will be able to get it now upon release.

People still buy new stuff to sell it for higher price, and depending on what you are gaming this could be enough for you.

As someone pointed in other comments,if you can wait for at least 3 months, you could wait,if not buy this gen.

Well tbh i can wait another 3 or maybe 4 months, been waiting for like 7 long years.😩 I made my first PC when i was in 11th standard.  it's jus that all of the specs above would cost around say umm less then $1500. I live in India so around 2 Lack Rupees. GPU prices are crazy here and I'm sceptical as to what if new stuff comes in and it gets too expensive and the current stuff from intel and amd might become more valuable for money maybe in context to the new generation but what if they increase the prices of ongoing gen as well. Ive seen retailers do this a lot so i would be stuck in between. As in... not getting my hands on new gen as it may turn out super expensive on the other hand i might end up paying more for the ongoing gen as price may be increased by retailers.

I'm looking for an all-rounder PC tbh , new RX 5800xt here in India costs around $750 where as an RTX 3080 a whopping $1k. It's crazy out here even tho prices are dropping in US and Europe.

I mean i do need it for gaming, for games like RDR 2, Cyberpunk, Train Sim Words etc and many more but I'll be doing a lot of graphics designing stuff and video editing too.

Most often than not, almost anywhere but USA gonna have to wait more months before stock arrive and/or price cut.
I know, I live in S.E Asia.

3080 still around 900-1k here, depending on brand & model.

So if you aim for new releases, most likely you are going to wait more than 4 months.
Unless you're willing to pay premium price ofc.

For 3080, IIRC Gaming X Trio has better cooling capabilities than the ventus one.

In that case, since you live in India where everything is priced higher and the western price drops doesn't happen in your country, just like mine. I'd wait a bit for the next gen AMD to come out and the current gen CPUs should drop a bit, then purchase everything.

I'd assume your country's market would be the same as mine, where new tech releases will happen months after the US even then the prices would be so high. Therefore, the wait is much longer and possibly not worth the wait.

Now for the parts, for CPU I'd drop a bit to 12600K and get the 3080 12GB/Ti, the 10GB is quite a lot slower compared to the 12GB, it's not just the VRAM. For your use cases, GPU is where it matters (CMIIW), so spend a bit more on GPU.
