Yes they can, look at recent events regarding a certain very unpopular country. If they can do it with a country killing a company isnt much of an issue in comapriaon...

UPDATE: It turns out TikTok iOS app is monitoring all keyboard inputs and taps inside the in-app browser with a similar technique.
