Posted July 20, 2022 Bought a used MacBook Pro 2012 for a good price came with no OS instAlled, went into recovery mode and when it goes to verify the macs info it fails to re install. I have done the following to try to get to internet recovery mode: reset the nvram numerous times tried to make a bootable usb of the OS X Mountain Lion from a windows machine (I have no other macs to use the utility line to make a bootable device) the MacBook Pro can read usb devices as I need a usb mouse to click and it reads the old HDD that’s connected externally. i hVe both tried to connect through both wifi and through Ethernet to reinstall the os. what other steps should I try to get the is reinstalled or at what point do I try to figure what hardware failure is happening Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
