Technically, the Samsung drive will have slightly better performance and endurance since it is MLC vs the TLC Crucial. However, given they are both SATA drives, it really doesn't matter for a normal consumer.

I'd probably go for the 870 Evo and it's MLC nand which provide better performance/durability than TLC.

What Are Multi-Layer SSDs-SLC, MLC, TLC, QLC, and PLC?- An explanation… – t-Blog

The 870 evo is a TLC drive. Samsung just likes to say 3 bit mlc instead of TLC. The 860 pro is the version with MLC, but MLC is pretty dead these days, and doesn't make sense for most uses.

But either of these drives are good, and Ive used a good amount of each. Id get the cheapest of the two. Make sure to backup the drive also.

Samsung always lists its flash as “MLC”, but often it isn’t, if the flash is 3-bit doesn’t matter if next to it in the name there is “MLC”, it is TLC. The same concept is applicable for 4-bit flash: QLC, not MLC.

As Electronics Wizardy already said, MLC drives are EOL nowadays (also the production itself is EOL) and the only Samsung’s drives with that flash are the PRO (except the 980).
