Wi-fi blocking me from spotify and whatsapp

Hello,

Basically i can't use my spotify anymore (it loads for like 5 minutes and then says something went wrong),same with spotify web player and also i can't open whatsapp with whatsapp web either.

They both worked fine until 4-5 days ago when they just suddenly stopped working, but when i connect my laptop to data from my phone everything works again.

Note that using incognito mode somehow fixes spotify web player but not whatsapp.

I re-installed Spotify multiple times to make sure its not a client issue and now idk what to do so any suggestions would be great.

P.S gaming without spotify is kinda lame.

Does laptop have ethernet port or would it be possible to even try such? It does sound like you may need change router.

Yes it does have an ethernet port and it doesnt work when i plug it in either,

but it  works if i use wifi bridge from my phone to my laptop, for some reason it only stops working if im directly connected to my router

Maybe try changing your DNS to 1.1.1.1 (cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (google), a search suggests ISPs might sometimes be blocking DNS for these in Lebanon...

Sounds like you need new router.

They said that when it's working they're using their phone as hotspot, so going through mobile data instead of home connection

If mobile provider is also routing through Lebanese DNS?

Then it wouldn't work, but the point is it could be ISP-specific and is worth trying. I did a quick search and came across someone who said that solved it for them.

I've been in ME countries and both the gov and individual providers do weird things...
