  Hey all,

I have a iBuyPower prebuilt that I am considering replacing or upgrading (specs above). Any suggestions? Also what do you think the value of my current set up is worth if I wanted to sell? Feel free to ask any questions and all advice is welcomed thanks.

Why in the world do you have so much RAM?

In what way do you feel the performance of the current specs are insufficient?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

The real question is what is it NOT doing for you. Ask yourself what is bothering you that is making you want to upgrade. Need more storage? Gpu not performing to your expectations? Upgrading for the sake of upgrading is pretty pointless if your not even up against your hardwares limit.

I had it laying around from a previous build so just installed for the heck of it. I am interested in running dual display. My current is a 1440p 240 hertz monitor and want to add a 4k display. Thinking I may have a cpu bottleneck for 4k gaming.

2060 Super is totally inadequate for 4k gaming.

Your CPU and motherboard are a dead end, you could get a 9900 but for the prices those go for it's not worth it.

You could just dump your whole $1500 budget into a new card that could game at 4k, with the burden shifted to the GPU the 9700 probably wouldn't be too much of a hindrance, but you don't mention your PSU and I doubt whatever an iBuyPower prebuilt came with could handle one of those cards.

With $1500, plus what you make from selling the core components of your current system, you could build a modern 4k gaming PC.

Holy RAM! I only have 48gigs and I did a S ton of video editing and processing! As far as a pre-built vs build your own PC, I would always recommend build your own if you have the skill and time, that way you control the variables and stuff doesn't get damaged from some tech who hates his/her job and breaks a PCIe slot.

I'd do what was suggested above, PSU upgrade and a GPU

Middcore, that's what I was thinking. Do you think I should sell my prebuilt and just build my own? Reasonable asking price for current set up? I have a spare case and evga gold power supply. Thanks for the help guys.

You should just sell your current one for about 850-1000 dollars and the. You can build a nice pc with a 12700k, z690, 32gb ram 3200mhz, a 3080 or maybe even a ti if the cost allows for it.

I mean, at his budget (well over $2000 to play with including the proceeds from selling or parting out the current system) I would just build a new PC.

Yeah I agree he can go with an i7 along with a 3080 or 3080 ti if he wants if he sells the current one and builds a new pc

Thank you all for the timely responses. Going to start looking around now. Suggestions on selling current set up? Facebook marketplace seems a little antiquated, am I wrong?

Thanks,

RS

That's going to depend on where you live. Where I'm at, that's the only place really to sell. OfferUp and apps like them haven't caught on up here. Craigslist is pretty much dead. Alaskaslist is basically only good for buying firearms or property. Shipping from up here is too much to really sell on eBay etc.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.
