Posted May 24, 2022 I'm looking for a laptop as an IT student. I don't need it to do really heavy tasks, but I'd like the laptop to be quite powerful, in case I do need to do heavy tasks, while still having a long-lasting battery. Also, I'd like the laptop to be quite portable since I'm going to be carrying it every day. And whilst not being essential, it'd be great if it could do a bit of light gaming. Budget is between 700-1200 €. But it's flexible. Currently, I'm looking at the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro, but any other options are welcome. Posted May 25, 2022 If you're applications run on M1, then m1 Macbook Air/pro (Pro only, if you rather need 20 hours of batterylife over 15-16~). No x86 Windows Device can hold this batterylife. M1 is fast in everyday usage, you will never hear Fans, and you most likely can't kill the battery in less than 8-10 hours (light tasks easily 14-16 hours), unless you do like Benchmarking, Rendering etc.
