Unless you buy the license or the rights of the show.... yes it's piracy.

If you even have a doubt if it is illegal, I wouldn't post a link on this forum. Posting links to illegal sites is against the Code of Conduct. To read the Code of Conduct, click here

depends on if it like free TV like Fox, ABC, NBC etc.. basically anything you can get off of an air signal is legal everything else could be a gray line or just flat out illegal

Yes it's illegal. Or at least in the US

Unless you buy the license or the rights of the show.... yes it's piracy.

I don't understand what piracy is then. I thought it was only downloading it. Not uploading it.

I'm being serious. Sharing the media with people via the internet isn't piracy, it's only enabling piracy. Technicality, I know, but still.

Piracy is stealing. It doesn't matter what you do with what you stole, you still stole it.

The 'pirates' are the suppliers too. Think of pirate radio and back when bootleg vhs and dvds were a thing, those people were known as pirates.

Strangely bootleg DVDs/VHS is still a thing. You can find sellers at farmers' markets.

I used to watch online for Disney shows and Nickelodeon shows. I'm realizing now it was deff piracy.

Ah, I thought he was strictly speaking about uploading stuff he had and sharing it via a link.

Stealing implies the other person no longer has it. Like, I take your car, make a copy, then leave with the copy. You still have your car. You've lost nothing.

The same isn't true of a business obviously (i.e. I make copies for everyone and give them away), but I still wouldn't call it stealing. We need a new word. That one doesn't make sense.

But don't continue watching it. If you don't pay for it you have absolutely no right to continue using/watching a product. If you don't like it then don't pay for it. But you also don't get to use/watch it.

Yeah I think I actually saw some dvds for sale the last one I was at, must be slow business these days , I haven't had a device capable of playing a DVD for about 4 years now.

Not like anyone would catch you. See my above post about Disney/Nickelodeon

i think piracy rules are abit too harsh even if you own a album you cannot upload a song from it on youtube with lyrics for people to read.

That's exactly why I asked the first question.

I've always thought piracy was explicitly for the downloaders. Not the uploaders.
