Quad channel memory problem

Go to solution Solved by Origami Cactus,

Have you tried lowering the speed when you have 4 slots occupied?

Instead of XMP/DOCP 3200mhz, try 3000 or 2933.

Or to troubleshoot, disable Docp/xmp all together and run the ram at 2133

Hello all!

I recently just upgraded my ram from 16gb to 32gb and for some reason it does not like it, I've ran memory diagnostic on several occasion, eliminating everything, everything works in every slot (ran about 10 times) but the only way it doesn't work is when all 4 ram slots are occupied. I have no idea what is going on. So any helpful tips would be grateful.

Ps.

My system:

Ryzen 5 3600

8gb X 4 hyperx ram 3200mhz

MSI mag mortar mATX

Amd Radeon Rx 570

500w psu

Regards chris

So the new RAM isnt the same as the old one.
Hmmm, that sounds way to familiar.

PS having 4 sticks instead of 2 puts way more strain on your memory controller.

But yes i agree with @Origami Cactusbecause its more strain, you might need to lower the speeds.

And yes it's annoying, but thats why 2stick kits are most common nowadays.

ps the memory control for your system is on the CPU.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

The motherboard is probably the one with the B550M chipset.

The motherboard supports dual channel RAM, not quad, but with 4 slots.

You should be able to run 3200 MHz without XMP according to the manual, page 4 (PDF page 18).
