Wifi Cards (m.2? PCIE?)

Arya4

Recently I found out that I will be moving and will be losing access to ethernet, and will only have a wireless connection. My motherboard, the Asus Prime Z690-P D4 doesn't have wifi preinstalled, but does have an m.2 slot for wifi. What are some solutions for wifi? I probably wont need over the top specs, I don't have a price range because I am unsure of what things like this should cost, but I would prefer to not spend over $100 CAD unless it is highly recommended. Thanks

Just get the best Intel M.2 wifi card in your budget. I use this, it's $36: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085M7VPDP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. May be newer now, but they may cost more, IDK. Had a TP-Link PCIe card with the same actual chip, but it only worked half the time + required a USB header connection for Bluetooth functionality. The plain Intel kit just plugs in, hook up the antennae (has rabbit ears on a PCIe bracket, I just put it in an empty slot below the mobo so I don't block off any of my slots for future single-slot cards I may install) and it works.

Intel is basically the standard for well... Intel based laptops so they're a solid choice. Now... do you have antennas to attach is another question because without them, you're probably not going to be getting a good connection.

I do not have the antennas, should I just get an intel kit with both the card and antennas?

Is there a spot to put the antennas on your IO shield or case?  If not,  you'd need something like  https://www.amazon.com/REKONG-AX210-kit-Wireless-802-11ax/dp/B08PNMJYRW/ref=sr_1_5?crid=16QWAD5JEV8FN&keywords=ax210&qid=1652234697&sprefix=ax210%2Caps%2C145&sr=8-5

Personally I'd get a PCIe x1 card version instead such as https://www.amazon.com/gp/slredirect/picassoRedirect.html/ref=pa_sp_btf_aps_sr_pg1_1?ie=UTF8&adId=A04451202PPK4HJCVK0R6&url=%2FZiyituod-Bluetooth5-1-2402Mbps-Ultra-Low-ZYT-AX200%2Fdp%2FB07Z1W8Y16%2Fref%3Dsr_1_22_sspa%3Fcrid%3D15KX70ZCP9WTB%26keywords%3Dax210%26qid%3D1652234912%26sprefix%3Dax210%2Caps%2C149%26sr%3D8-22-spons%26psc%3D1&qualifier=1652234912&id=6286478053719438&widgetName=sp_btf as the longer the antenna cable, the worse the signal will be.  The only time I'd use a longer cable is OUTSIDE the PC so you can reposition the antennas better where you'd gain more signal than you lose.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7
