Ok so i woke up this morning with a coldy-fluy type thing, I got a shift tommorow at hungry jacks (Burger king) I called in coz they like it 24 hours before your shift i told them i had a cold and he said " A cold your calling in sick for a cold." i said "Ye it is a food place." He said "Look if you still fell crap tommorow call in. And that was that but when i call in tommorow what should i say and i will probably get shit for calling in 3 hours before my shift

This is why you don't work at fast food places and this is also why you don't every fucking eat at them. The managers and shit couldn't seriously give a fuck about anything other than getting paid for the least amount of work.

The 24 hour thing is a farce, it's just there to deter people from calling in.
There's no way you'd know 24 hours before hand that you're going to be sick. You could be better by then, or worse. Just call in the day of. It doesn't really matter. If they complain it's poor management.

Surely they can't actually enforce a 24 hour period? That's insane, there are laws governing that sort of thing.

Lol I work at HJ too for now. One time like a week ago I didnt go into my 4:30pm shift coz I was asleep and I woke up at 5 with like 4 miscalls from them. All they said was k its cool just call us next time.  ;)

Well no one wants too work there. But im 15 for e.g. and dont rlly have anywhere else as a starter and I sure as hell wasnt going to get the pc in my sig by doing odd jobs or some shit. ;)

Ask another employee if they can work your shift, call work again and tell them you've got somebody to take your shift. As long as someone is working they don't care. My mates used to do that at Maccas all the time.
