Need feedback on potential ram swap

Rainbrew

Hey, so my build plans have changed from a black/white build in a be quiet 500dx to a full black/RGB one and my white ram sticks are the only thing remaining from the previous version of my build. Below I have three pics, one with the NH-D15 with two fans, one with one fan, and one with a super professional mock-up of the new ram. This is purely for aesthetic reasons (temps are good in the system either way) and I'm not sure if I'd prefer the different ram over the second fan as it reflects the lighting really nicely. Which do you think looks best?

Aka maximizing  s l o w n e s s  /s

If the build is fine and fits your performance needs now and potential needs in the future then theres nothing wrong with spending on aesthetics

You can just sell your rams off and buy diff rams, i suggest rgb pro cause ironically its actually decent value sometimes, esp if you consider trash b die and its oc capability if you wanna f around with that

I'm thinking about getting the Vengeance RT in 2x16gb 3600mhz CL16. It's relatively low height so the second fan *might* fit and it will be faster than my current kit (3600 Cl18) so it's ~aesthetics~ with a minute performance boost. I'm just looking for some opinions because while I can technically just buy it and refund it within 14 days if someone says that 2 fans is epic gaming 20x better than the 2 ram rgb then I'll just find some lower profile black ram and call it a day.

Clearly I'm not above maximizing aesthetics once the performance is maximized.

There's just very little difference between your options, so the best one is the easiest one, which is the current one.

I wouldn’t look for looks just performance and money try to not spend a hole lot and get good performance once you get those then you can work on it along the way

Thats guaranteed trash b die but its still trash b die and not worth the prob near 200$ that would cost since you might aswell get a 3200 cl14 kit with proper b die and not trash b die

Just get the 3200 cl16 or 3600 cl18 kit, if you want faster rams just overclock them, it wont make much of a diff anyways

I looked into it and apparently they're based on Samsung C-die. I'm not really sure if that's good or bad as my current kit isn't exactly high performance either, but the price where I live including tax is ~180usd so it's actually cheaper than most other 3200/3600 32gb kits. I'm not a ram man though so maybe c-die is something atrocious that I'm not aware of.

C die is pretty trash but i think buildzoid has gotten it to 3600 cl16 so doesnt really matter anyways

Btw what country are you in?

I'm in Poland! It's 3600 cl16 by default, so can't be any worse than my current kit. (Goodram IRDM Pro Hollow White 3600mhz Cl17(18?) 2x16gb)

Actually I have a question, what makes B-die "trash"? There's a website that lets you find Samsung b-die ram kits but I'm not sure how to differentiate between the good and bad ones.

Trash b die is just trash that you find on normal bin 3200 cl16 or 3600 cl18, maybe same applies to 3600 cl16 if its 16-18-18 and not 16-16-16

Decent b die is the stuff you get on decent bin kits like 3200 cl14, 3600 cl16 (16-16-16), 4000 cl18, 4400 cl19, etc.

Main diff is oc ability but even trash b die is fine if you crank the volt enough, though no guarantees of safety over 1.6v and def no guarantees of your hardware not going kaput in an instant going over 2.05v, main concern is imc degradation for all i know so be weary of that at higher volts (1.6v+)

Ok, I see I'll have to do a bit more reading then because I thought b-die specifically referred to Samsung B-die and that all of it was good.

Honestly, if you don't intend to OC your RAM (which can be a long and arduous process) then you don't need to worry about it. The RAM you have already is fine, and a fancy B-die kit, even when properly manually tuned, will not change your performance by that much. People like me OC our RAM because we are masochists who love the pain. The better RAM is only worth the higher price if you are going to enjoy the process of tuning it.
