New 3080 and i have artifacts all over the screen?

I just got this, installed and and have been using my computer the last hour or so and now there are red dots all over the place.

 

Anyone have any ideas what this is about?

even if u can make it go away i'd be very worried it's a dead card

 

edit: try slightly downclocking the memory

What exact card is it? is it a founders edition or like a evga or asus card

Board partner cards (especially evga) are overclocked from the factory, however the founders editions are not. you should try what the previous guy said to do and to downclock the memory and core clock.

Ok so i ran DDU (didn't do that before, didn't know i had to) and it appears to have gone away.    Before this GPU I had an AMD 5700xt in there.

yup seems to be the issue. also, the rtx 3080 you can underclock it to get lower temps and same performance. i highly recommend to do it by using msi afterburner.
