PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/328htn

CPU: Intel Core i3-12100F 3.3 GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($108.94 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: MSI PRO B660M-A DDR4 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard  ($139.99 @ Newegg)

Memory: Silicon Power 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory  ($54.97 @ Newegg)

Storage: Samsung 870 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($99.99 @ Newegg)

Video Card: ASRock Radeon RX 6500 XT 4 GB Phantom Gaming D OC Video Card  ($219.98 @ Newegg)

Case: Antec NX200M MicroATX Mid Tower Case  ($54.99 @ Newegg)

Power Supply: Thermaltake Smart Series 430 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply  ($33.98 @ Newegg)

Total: $712.84 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2022-04-14 22:59 EDT-0400

Tried to stretch the budget a bit, if you can add $15 to it for another case fan it would be better than just the one in the case.

B660 still gets you ddr4 overclocking and pcie4 so the card can run at the right speed.

There may be some rtx2060 or 1660super cards coming up used on eBay for $200ish if the stock holds up on newer cards.

I could be wrong but I think since your CPU doesn't support PCIe 4.0 (even though the board does), the performance on the 6500 XT will be crippled.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

So what cpu would you recommend at around this price? I looked at 1st gen threadripper, but mobo pricing killed the deal.

Hey peoples of the LTT forum, I am trying to build a budget pc, here is the list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WhqYgb

Open to suggestions, max budget is 720 dollars, but anything lower is completely fine.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/y89xcb

this is my recommended list 12100F is great deal and 3050 is a lot better than 6500XT but you can swap that to save 100$ also I recommend a better PSU if you can spare some cash (consult with psu tier list

AMD alternative, with better components - just add your preferred video card:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/93WMv3

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core Processor  ($184.00 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($118.03 @ MemoryC)
Memory: Silicon Power 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory  ($54.97 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Blue SN570 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  ($89.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case  ($59.55 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA BR 600 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($54.02 @ Amazon)

Total : $560

The system above will work, but the power supply is kind crap and will leave little room for upgrades, the SSD is SATA when you can do faster nvme,

The 12100F is cheaper (but only 4 core, 8 threads vs 6/12), what you save on CPU you put on motherboard but you'll have lots of cpus to upgrade if you want to and the motherboard can handle more demanding cpus.

Budget (including currency): 500

Country: United States of America

Just as a casual video editor

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Just need a cpu, Mobo, and ram.

Since all yr asking for is cpu, mobo, and ram I’m gonna assume you have a gpu, case, psu, and ssd/hdd

For 450$ those parts are pretty bad. Maybe prices changed for some parts, But for prices they are selling now it's waste of money.

Here is edit with better cooler, motherboard and RAM.

PCPartPicker Part List

I am looking for a new build (this was a challenge by my parents, who I'm dependent on)

$350 new is not gonna be worth buying. It's possible, but not particularly good.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gJVZJM

The cheapest you should really go for a system doing this is $600, and even then an extra $200 will go far.

Get a laptop with a ryzen APU if you must:

($450)

https://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-Windows-Horizon-Renewed/dp/B094G6P18R/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=ryzen+laptop+renewed&qid=1651730679&refinements=p_36%3A2421886011&rnid=2421885011&s=pc&sr=1-4

This will run minecraft fine, and the hexacore CPU should be enough for some decent editing.  The vega iGPU is better for laptop editing than anything you would have had in the past.

You should be able to upgrade this to 16GB of RAM for less than $35.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.

Don't laugh, but at that budget you could as well get a Steam Deck and use it as a Mini PC.

NZXT S340 | Ryzen 7 5900X | B550 AORUS PRO V2 | TridentZ RGB 2x8GB 3200 | RTX 4070
Nintendo Switch (2x), Nintendo *New* 3DS, PSP-1000, PSP-2000 (Crisis Core Limited Edition)

MacBook Pro 14 (2021), 16GB RAM, 512GB ROM
