Hot water in LTT bottle with spout lid skips threads

Should start with I love the 40oz waterbottles and spout lids.

 

Just an FYI:

Recently I have been experiencing issues with storing tea in the bottle when using the spout lid.

Seems to be caused by thermal expansion of the lid with the spout cap unable to normalize to the increased temperature and causes leaks through the spout cap threads and jumping threads when trying to fully seal.

 

It's not an issue with the normal lid or the bottle to lid threads, only the plastic to plastic threads on the spout.

 

I've gone back to the flat lid and it's all good, the spout still seals really well with not hot liquids but might be worth a tolerances check if you ever do a V2
