Game recommendations for an older laptop (i3 6006U, 8GB ddr4, GeForce 940MX)

I am wondering, which games would you recommend having on there in case the main (modern mid-range) or the reserve (modern low-end) gaming PC isn't available?

The drive space is limited by the 256GB SSD that's inside. As mentioned in the title, i3 6006U (2 cores 4 threads 2GHz) with 2x4GB ddr4 and an GeForce 940MX.

 

This isn't for what I should play. It's for telling me what you would have on such a laptop. But in your recommendations I might find something I haven't played that I might like (like This War of mine)...

It can run the 2013 version just fine. Maybe even the newer ones too.

Then, yes. The entire Tomb Raider collection. Old, new. whatever. TOMB RAIDER lol jk jk. i just freakin love me some tomb raider haha

Indies, platformers, adventures, tabletops, old CRPGs.

So FTL and Hollow Knight for example.

If you don't mind 8bit style games - Shovel Knight (Treasure Trove includes all DLCs) was a blast to play.

I have an almost equally low-end laptop (i7-5500u, geforce 840M). Try Art Of Rally, it's an amazing game and is just overall really relaxing.

 

You can probs get like 50+ FPS on low-med settings with 1080p.
