could someone that has does this help walk me through this make sure i have everything needed?

i'm not familiar with mac-so so i'm not sure which version i need in order to do this

but instead of doing all this through a mac computer and air messages app on android

i'm also considering  just loading ios directly into my android device it self?

iOS is only available for Apple devices like iPhones, you can't install it on an Android device. iMessage is similarly only available on Apple devices, unless I somehow missed that Apple recently changed their mind about that.

If you want to use iMessage, you need to get an iOS device or a Mac. There's no way around this. Hackintosh is also a possibility but that comes with its own boatload of problems.

You could get an iPhone 8 for cheap and use iMessage from there yes.

another issue i have is i'm not familiar with mac-os if i got pick up something to make sure this works

how do i tell which macbook has the right version ?

Anything new will come with the latest version of macOS (12). If you buy something used, ask the seller which version it has to make sure it's at least 10.10 (aka Yosemite).

You can easily find this out by clicking on the Apple icon top left and "About this Mac".

Mac OS X v10.5 Leopards can something this close to 10.10 be up updated to 10.10?

macOS versions don't work the same way as Windows. Apple only changed the minor version for a long time.

10.5 came out in 2007, while 10.10 was released in 2014. Check which device it is, Apple has information on their site which devices get updates and which don't.

In that case you should be fine. 10.15 came out in 2019, so is a fair bit newer than 10.10

Please don't try to install iOS on an Android phone. In fact, you're going to explicitly promise in your next reply that you won't try it.

Even if it was legitimate (again, the video's April 1st date should ring alarm bells)... you'd be installing an unsupported OS on hardware that OS doesn't natively recognize. Some functionality could easily be glitchy or missing. And of course, you'd have no official help if something goes wrong. From what it sounds like, this is your only phone; imagine if you couldn't take an urgent phone call or text because of your tinkering.

If you want iMessage, and you want it to behave as smoothly as any other text messaging you're used to... just get an iPhone. You can buy the new iPhone SE or even a semi-recent refurbished phone (the iPhone 8 is fine, if a bit old) if you don't want to spend a ton of money. But it's not worth torturing yourself with unofficial hacks that won't work as well, or might even break with little warning.

The video is about airmessage. It's just a webapp that runs on the phone and connects to a mac running imessage and then sending or receiving messages to and from the airmessage webapp to it's imessage.
