For starters, I would like to say I'm new to the forum and this seamed to be the best part to post about my Ideas.  So on to the topic.

***WARNING*** This topic is based off the hopes that this technology is available in the future!

Imagine your sitting around your house and watching a video on your Gaming laptop and your friend comes over for a LAN party with their Gaming laptop, but they forgot their charge cord.  That would be just fine though if their was wireless charging blocks.  They could take a couple of forms:

 1) A set of pads you could place around your house in your most popular gaming locations so you could set your laptop on it and it would be a viable source of power for gaming

 2) A more family/ LAN party viable option, A Cube like shape that can charge up to four laptops and in the *Future* Could act a router or access point for an Ethernet connection for the best possible online gaming experience

The only Question is... When is this technology going to be available? And when it is, How much will it cost?

I really hope this is available in the future.

What do you guys think about this Idea?

i think you wont be able to get enough current through wireless charging to keep the laptop battery from depleting while gaming

you would need a very powerful induction coil, which in turn would cause strong magnetic fields that would be harmful to your laptop

This

yeah thanks

also it might be possible with some magnetic shielding, but that means you need a think piece of alloy inside your laptop between the coil and the electronics

so basically your laptop would be like 2x thicker and weigh like 10kg

lol not worth it

ok fine then

a more useful technology would be to have a single energy emitter that changes the current to waves and sends it throughout your house

then you can have a wave receiver that takes the high energy wave and converts it back to current to power anything that needs electricity in your house

similar to a tesla coil for wireless electricity
