Force a game to run on direct x feature level 11_0 , from 12_0

Starvation

Hello,
I'm currently having problems playing Elden Ring , which require a feature level 12_0 of directx. I have a 770 4gb which supports directx12 (feature level 11_0). Since i've been searching for a solution to my launch problems, i've found a emulator for directx11 , which with forcewrap it can make it open in either feature_level 11_0 or 11_1. Problem is, i can't make it bigger, and i can't even open the game. Theoretically i should have the performance to run the game even if it's lower than minimum req. I've seen rigs that can run this game well enough   that are under minimum spec. For example, on my laptop , on which i have 1650 ti, 8gb ram, i7 gen10 H version, it runs around 40-50 fps, which i don't know if it's the highest it can go since the game is horribly optimized.
But is there a solution to this or a runaround  ? or i'll just have to play on laptop.

Thanks , i'll add pics of my system and how it opens.

From what I understand of DX, if it requires full DX12, it will not work on the Kepler series of cards as they only partially support DX12. There is no workaround other than buying a new card.

Thank you for the response !
So it's either a new gpu or a unlikely to appear patch from them , right ?

You will need a new GPU. I doubt the publishers of Elden Ring will be willing to add a patch for older GPUs that likely can't run the game well.

Nope! Theres a fix, but you only can use it offline afaik because  of EAC…

if you do the fix above, make sure to follow the instructions, there isnt a high risk imo, but if i understand this right there *is* a risk to break your windows install if you dont do it right (these dlls are typically system critical files, so yeah… )

And stay offline…

Try this:

https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/12

Instead of DX11 it will run on Vulkan instead.

Or you could try WineD3D which runs on OpenGL.

So there are DX11,Vulkan and OpenGL solutions.

I may try the DX11 one on with my HD 6970 😄

yeah, even if i dont fully understand how this works, just going by that video it was pretty obvious to me that there are probably several solutions…

Its really odd that companies choose to go this route since apparently the game runs just fine with dx11 etc.

looks this game is rather cpu heavy than gpu, so yeah it'll probably work at low settings/720p or something : p
