PC Cooling Recommendations

What CPU Cooler do you recommend for a Core i7 12700KF in a microATX case?  Also, how many fans do you recommend for a microATX case?

Where are you shopping / located? Budget?

The stock case fans should be fine.

My budget is around $1700.  I'm picking the parts out on pcpartpicker.

Best value cooler would be Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 for $41 (it comes in Black, White, and White+ARGB for $52/$52/$54 respectively). If you like the looks more Scythe Fuma 2 for $60 and Deepcool AK620 for $65 will do the job as well. As will Montech Air 210 for $60.

But the Thermalright PA 120 family covers all aesthetic variants, for less than the other ones.

If you're looking for absolute top Air cooling performance Thermalright Frost Commander 140 (Black and White, for $71, and $74 respectively), are the cheapest options that can't be topped by any other air cooling by more than ~1-3c degrees. And are tied with Noctua for secondary features (x and y-axis offset), tremendous RAM clearance, ease of installation, ~10 year support with mounting brackets, etc, ... The Incredible Noctua NH-D15S Black is $100 (Brown is $90).

I just want to say... No point getting a K SKU with a B660 board. If you want to OC you'll need a Z690. If not just get a normal 12700. It'll save you a bunch on your budget.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

Are either of them compatible with the LGA1700 socket?

I am buying components from Amazon/Newegg/B&H.  There are no Microcenters or such in my area.

You need to buy seperate LGA1700 mounting for all of them. Thermalright has LGA1700 mounting kits available, so does Scythe, as does Noctua. Deepcool is out of stock on amazon it seems, and Monthech doesn't have any available.

The AK620 is good. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9T92FT/deepcool-ak620-6899-cfm-cpu-cooler-r-ak620-bknnmt-g

FYI, you can use permalinks to easily share pcpartpicker links.
