Friend's First Home Flight Sim Build. What do you think?

asiannoodles1

Helped my friend who is also a fellow aviation student build his first system to run flight simulators like X-Plane and MSFS2020 on. Pleased with the result 馃槃

The RX6600 has gone down slightly on the price (though nowhere near MSRP...)聽 in Korea so this was the best build we could get with his budget.

Specs!

  • Ryzen 5600X
  • AMD Wraith Prism Cooler
  • MSI MAG B550M Mortar WIFI (M-ATX)
  • MSI RX6600 MECH 2X
  • TeamGroup T-Force DDR4 16GB @ 3200 MHz聽(8GB x 2)
  • Western Digital Blue NVMe SSD (500GB)
  • EVGA 650W BQ 80-Plus Bronze PSU (Semi-Modular)
  • Bravotec Defy B40 White M-ATX Case (Korean Brand)
  • Coolertec 200mm White LED fan for the front of the case

LEDs were configured with the MSI Mystic Light utility to match the black and white color scheme.

Completed setup with flight sim peripherals are in the post below!

Here are the photos of the setup with peripherals.

We've installed a 27 inch Samsung monitor and the Thrustmaster TCA Officer Pack, Airbus Edition. Has a sidestick and throttle, and that's all my friend needs at the moment.

It's a basic Hands-On Throttle And Stick (HOTAS) setup and will be used to practice basic flight procedures we learn during our time in aviation university.

The cables were managed after the photos were taken, and the chair will be replaced haha

Very nice PC, nice desk also.

But just putting a PC and the monitor where it belongs and putting a joystick down doesnt make it a 'sim-rig'.

Cus if so, i've had a racing and flying and farming sim rig for decades. 馃檲
But all in all, very clean setup. And nice joystick throttle box combo too.

And i really really hope this fiend either has a metal back, or he changes seating arrangement quickly cus a seat like that will kill a back in hours. 馃槃

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!
