Second GPU not detected/ No output.

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

First things first, do you have any M.2 devices installed? That board has it configured that when the M.2_2 slot is populated or the 1st PCIe x1 slot is used the 2nd x16 slot is disabled. That board doesn't have the necessary PCIe switches to enable the slots to run in x8/x8 mode, so the second PCIe 16x slot is stuck running off the chipset. This shouldn't be an issue for performance or anything since you are just using it for the display outs, but there are some PCIe devices that do absolutely hate running off the chipset and while this is unlikely to be the issue, it's technically possible.

Hello Guys,

I recently installed a second GPU in my build because I didn't have enough Display ports, I installed it, plug in the 8 pin power and booted up my PC but to my surprise there is no signal coming out of the second graphics card, The fans are spinning but I'm not sure what is the issue. I have checked Device manager and the Card does not show up, I have also check my bios and it doesn't show up either. I'm not sure what other steps I can take to troubleshoot this, hopefully some here has encountered this issue before. Thanks in advance.

This is my current build:

Ryzen 9 5950x

MSI B550 Edge WIFI

Nvidia RTX 3070Ti (Primary GPU)

Nvidia GTX 1660 S (Secondary GPU)

EVGA 1000 Watt 80G

Thanks!

Hey, Thank you so much that was the issue, I am/was occupying the second M.2 slot, I removed it and it now it's working.

Do you have any Motherboard recommendations that will allow me to use both M.2 slots while using 2 GPU's? If so I would greatly appreciate any if all recommendations.

What's your price range, there are a lot of boards that do support that

Hey sorry for the late response I’ve been a bit busy, but there is no price range I have a few friends that work in the retail space so I can always get a good deal.  Again thanks for the help I appreciate it. I looked at the ROG CROSSHAIR Viii is that one good?

It's a good board, it's just that you can get boards that do basically everything that board does but way cheaper, even considering getting discounts at retail. The X570 Taichi from ASRock is a very solid board with a very solid VRM and some of the best expansion you can get on a X570 board. The Gigabyte B550 Vision D-P is another very good option with a slightly different yet still very good feature set. The X570S Aorus Master is probably the best VRM available on X570 with the same expansion options as the Crosshair VIII.
