Depends on how hard they run and how hot the environment they are in. If your card has a whine when GPU usage is at maximum, it is most likely coil whine not fan whine.

Depends on the card. A graphics card doesn't just cool the GPU. VRAM, VRM also need cooling. Either way, I would not run a 1080ti with single fan unless it is a reference cooler card.

Lol, one of the worst to get for longevity in my experience. But I stopped using air coolers for personal use aside from one rig.

Then you have nothing to worry about.

I thought the fans on my Zotac 2080 Ti Amp! were in bad shape. They'd make the absolute worst noise at any speed above 60%. Turns out that whoever assembled the card at the factory hadn't aligned the fans correctly into the plastic shroud and they were all sticking up from their base at a slight angle causing them to spin off-balance. Very quick fix.

Not the normal thing to see, just something that shows it's not always the components' fault. Just sharing.

Honestly if the card still runs cool and the sound doesn't annoy you, just live with it. Otherwise you really have two main options: get some replacement fans off eBay or Amazon (they're usually sold in packs and can be matched to your card) or water cool the damn thing.

I did both.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

Yours is not a reference cooler. Replacement fans are easily available, all you have to do is google part number on the back of the fan alongside of your card.
