Basic Hackintosh Questions

1) If you run Hackintosh is it almost identical to using Mac OS?

2) Can to install programs do you need a special emulator, or can you install Mac or Windows Software?

3) Lastly How do i get the OS should I choose to install it.

 

The reason I am curious is because I want to use Mac OS so I could get experience with using it, But I do not want to buy any apple product just to use and get use to it for experience unless I absolutely have to.

I wouldnt recommend using the tools they used in that video. You will have the most luck and success using unibeast and multibeast

I've noticed people mention #1 a lot.  I don't think that has anything to do with it being a hackintosh though.  I have an iMac and I have problems with the sleep/wake not working right.  I think it's just an OS thing.

Its definitely not an OS issue. I've had zero issues with it on a real mac. I guess other peoples experience can vary

I mean, it kind of is an OS issue because I have an iMac with Mavericks and it has that problem.

None of my metro apps work on my Windows 8 install... must mean that it's an OS issue too.

Yeah it's not like it happens to everyone but there are people who have problems with the sleep/wake function who have actual Mac's.

Replace mavericks with mountain lion as well.  It's definitely there.

ive had sleep wake issues on my macbook pro. it takes about 2 minutes to fall asleep but no time at all waking up. if it doesnt get to sleep and you want to wake it up well. thats another story.

Okay, so what's the problem people have who have mac's and they aren't sleeping or coming out of sleep?  If that's not an OS issue, what kind of issue is it?

ive had sleep wake issues on my macbook pro. it takes about 2 minutes to fall asleep but no time at all waking up. if it doesnt get to sleep and you want to wake it up well. thats another story. 

 

Yep, I suspect I had similar issues with my macbook but my memory is garbage and can't recall.

true. but it still happens. I think its linked to hardware issue because I used to get kernal errors occationally then I had to replace my logic board and the kernal errors went away. so you never know. could be hardware, could be software, could be user error.

Ehh, if it's yours, hers, his, theirs, it's still an issue with THE operating system.  Stop trying so hard to be clever.

As jaybird said, it could be hardware, software or user error. There's lots of things that can cause an OS to hang. Many times it's not the os's fault. Sleep/Wake issues are in no way exclusive to Mac OS systems.

 

Stop arguing for the sake of argument.

i didn't want to spark arguments of any kind i just wanted a simple answer to each of the 3 questions and i got them.

2) Can to install programs do you need a special emulator, or can you install Mac or Windows Software? :Yes I can instal actual mac OS Software.

3) Lastly How do i get the OS should I choose to install it.  : Must be downloaded through the Mac App Store on an actual Mac running Mac OS.

I'm telling you it doesn't happen on my real Macs so its clearly not an issue with the operating system. It could be an issue with your particular system. If it really was a true bug with the OS then it would be patched.

Well it can really be only one of two things no, OS or hardware, no?  It happens to a lot of people.  I wasn't aware that OS problems were always universal.  I didn't know they had to impact every single person.  So if that's the case, then the problem is solved, it's hardware.
