Mod mesh vs Mod flex white side by side? Help pls :D

Hey,

Wasn't sure where to post this so apologies in advance if it's in the wrong section. Is there anybody that owns both Mod mesh and flex pro cable extensions in white that could show me a side by side comparison? I'm not sure what to buy for my new system xD

Thanks for the help in advance,

Lex

I dont have them in white, but I have had both in systems. The Mod Flex is easier to run but being a softer paracord like nylon its easier for it to look deformed so more difficult to get straight lines. It also has a more matte finish. The Mod Mesh holds a stiffer shape being a more plastic (maybe PET?) sleeve , the colors are more vibrant at reflecting light and have a slight semi gloss to them. They're also UV reactive.

But maybe @CableMod can help with a comparison

Any particular reason why? I’m trying to keep my build reasonably priced so I figured I’d stray away from a full custom set of cables atm 😃

lnger cables= more resistance = less voltage = bad for pc parts.

@CriSis_I don't have a side by side comparison unfortunately (I work from home), but I do have photos of two builds I've done for reference where you can see the differences. ModFlex is more of a matte finish and ModMesh is more of a glossy finish if you think in painting terms though if that helps as well. 🙂

ModMesh: https://builds.gg/nuggetking/client-build-3-18394

Issues with high-end GPUs. GPU crash, shutdowns, that kind of things.

What brand and model PSU, CPU and GPU do you have?

5900x on a ASUS b550-e with a gigabyte 2060 oc atm... will be upgrading to a 3070 or 3080 if possible or I guess 40 series... Using an sf750w from corsair. If I were to go down the 3080 route I would most likely be swapping out the PSU to a high capacity seasonic if I can get my hands on one or perhaps Id change my case and get a ATX psu.

I figured you would only see that sort of an issue with cheaper cables as they tend to be thinner etc, any potential issue with the cable mod ones?

Are you sure it would be that much of an issue? Isn't this only common with cheaper cables where they are thinner etc

Higher quality extensions still make the cable longer. They're not magic

Let me leave this here for you:

And this was a high quality extension on a 3090.... NOT mining.

Wonder if it would be the same problem using them with an sfx psu, the psu cables are quite short on the sf750... Although perhaps I’ll put the money for the extensions into my monitor and wait until I can fully replace the cables...

Should also clarify, that is not a CableMod extension, but rather, looks like an RGB cables underlying extension.
