Will RTX 3050 actually be 250$?

I don't have much money, and I need a good graphics card for cheap. I plan to buy it within 24 hours of launch.

given the inflated prices of even 1660s and 1650s, there's no way 3050 is going to be $250

Definitely not, I could see 3050 cards going for 1.5X the announced MSPR, since last I looked some retailers that have a few cards still in stock are still selling older 1050 cards for upwards of $250 CDN.

One can hope, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

It will be jaw dropping if it's widely available for anything less than USD 300. Unless it turns out to perform like garbage which is unlikely because we know what the mobile version can do..

Probably going to end up taking the AMD approach to their MSRPs.

 

One or two AIBs (probably EVGA and Gigabyte) are going to initially have one model available at MSRP for the first drop, then once the first shipment drops the prices will go back up, with $249 cards never to be seen again.

 

The RTX 3060 had an MSRP of $329 with no FE, so that price was based on the lowest-priced AIB card, which ended up being EVGA's XC Black. That card now costs $389 MSRP.

Expect to pay 300-400USD for the RTX 3050, perhaps on lower end of that scale IF it were an eVGA, Palit, GALAX, etc lower tier models. Expect to pay on the higher end of afore-mentioned scale IF buying the big three cards, Asus/Gigabyte/MSI as they are always, ALWAYS, overpriced.

Possibly but good luck trying to buy one for that price. They’ll more than likely sell out instantly and the cards that are actually available will be above MSRP (1.5-2x).

Well, there may just be a limited number to be sold at MSRP, but that's just so for marketing and PR purposes, so that nVidia can say, "See? They are sold at MSRP". The usual schtick may be used, like a sort of raffle or queueing system, so that a limited number might be sold at MSRP. Try eVGA, they have a good track record of selling GPU's at or near MSRP (or as near as possible)

Given the current climate of things, you'll be lucky if you get it for under $500. Prices are really that crazy. But it's more likely it'll be $800 for some stupid reason.

As many others have already said, expect € 400 - € 500..

That's where I see it fit in the current market, it's currently though-as-nails to get any kind of gaming GPU; a total bummer for newcomers to the PC gaming world
