CPU clock throttled at 0.19 GHz randomly while playing CS:GO

FarrelAriq

Sorry for my broken English,

I just brought a new Lenovo Ideapad 3 Slim 3 (14”) on windows 11 with 8gb of ddr4, the intel i5-1135G7 and nvidia MX350 and installed some games.

Whenever I played some games, in my case CS:GO and Heroes and Generals (both stand alone and steam version) my cpu clock randomly goes down to 0.19 GHz (from it’s base at 2.4 GHz) and lags my entire system for a minute or two (See picture). The weird thing is, this doesn’t happen on Ace Combat 7 (and pcsx2 emulator).

The max temp on one of my test was 84 C, so I don’t think it’s a thermal issue.

I’ve tried turning off game dvr, installed the latest bios, driver, tried the ThrottleStop, turnt off fast boot, but the problem presisted.

Does anyone know why this happen?

PS. Those are the only games I got installed right now.

Since notebook, how warm does it feel?

Also install HWinf064 (or similar) and look at your temperatures.

Im pretty sure they are close to the limit, and thats the reason you get abysmal performance.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Your laptop is thermal throttling due to overheating.
