Ok at the end of the line here I have a Ryzen 3 2300x processor and have tackled it in 3 different motherboards with all the same result no display or post so after looking I see my boards are not compatible with this chip so what I'm asking is does anyone actually know what board this chip will work in I'm looking at this

Aorus B450 AORUS M (Socket AM4/B450/DDR4/S-ATA 600/Micro ATX)

You'll want a MB with FlashBack. That allows for flashing the BIOS with just power, the MB, and a USB thumb drive. No CPU or RAM is required.

It's possible you just need the BIOS updated, or you've got some incompatible sticks of RAM. It's also possible you have a faulty GPU preventing the MB from POSTing.

Hey buddy no I have just been using the onboard hdmi I'm waiting on my new GPU was just setting it all up

The CPU doesn't have a built-in GPU, so you are not going to get video out of the mobo.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Great I will get a card fitted tomorrow and see what happens fingers crossed but just incase would a B450 be compatible even if I need separate GPU thanks for the info .

Yah, a B450 should work with the CPU just fine.

That HDMI port doesn't work with your CPU,you need to connect your display to a GPU.

The board you have now is probably working, you just need a GPU to display a picture...

What are you plugging the monitor into? Motherboard or GPU?

When you turn it on, do any fans light up or spin?

What power supply are you using and what connectors do you have plugged into the GPU?

What motherboard are you using?

Edit:

I'm assuming it's the Gigabyte B450 Aorus M you linked in the first post. Do any of the debug LEDs light up? Number 22 in this picture.

Make sure you quote or we don't get notifications that you replied. I happened to have this thread open still.

It seems like revision 1 of that motherboard didn't have debug LEDs, but some of the newer ones have them in the bottom right corner near the front panel connectors and bottom Sata connector. Does yours?
