Adding external case fan over removed PCI slot covers?

Can someone at LTT design a metal bracket that screws into an empty PCI slot that allows for an external fan to be mounted to pull recirculating air from around the GPU through removed PCI slot covers? You guys can design, fabricate, and test this sort of thing.  If it works, maybe you could sell it on the LTT store through a 3rd party custom bracket manufacturer with your logo for those of us who do not fabricate please? 🙂 Or maybe just share your plans? 🙂

I attached a schematic of an internal fan bracket and I bet with some small effort it could be modified to be an external fan bracket?

Regards,

John Hellman

These things have existed for forever.

They did very little for cooling and since cases got good airflow they became pointless.

Literal.  I have one that looks the same as that Startech one that is something like 20 years old.  The bearing finally started to let go in it.

ya 3d printed it to and any one can make it. but that intake air in to the gpu not exhaust it.

i just mount a fan to it with washers... good old home made rubber washers... ya cheap mods for the win.
